Remax Advantage Plus Snaps Skid in Thriller Over Ace Hardware

Braemar Arena – July 22, 2025

In one of the most fiercely contested games of the Celly League season, Remax Advantage Plus broke out of a four-game losing streak with a thrilling 4-3 shootout win over Pellicci Ace Hardware on Tuesday night at Braemar Arena.

Both teams entered desperate to reverse recent fortunes—Ace Hardware having dropped two straight and Remax riding a month-long losing skid. The matchup lived up to its billing, delivering pace, grit, and jaw-dropping goaltending.

University of New Hampshire’s Sedona Blair, subbing in for Remax, was electric between the pipes in the first half. She turned aside 9 of 10 shots in the opening frame, including two show-stopping saves—one on a breakaway chance by SCSU’s Avery Farrell, another a sliding stick-side denial that left the crowd buzzing. Thanks to Blair's heroics, Remax trailed just 1-0 after the first despite being outshot 10-5.

Pellicci Ace looked sharp early, with Avalyn Mikkelson (Assumption) opening the scoring off a feed from Meredith Jensen (Dartmouth) and Lily Erickson (SCSU) at 22:31 of the first.

But Remax came alive in the second half.  Sawyer Fleming (Princeton) connected with sister Delaney (Cornell) to not only level the game at one but rewarded their club's impressive effort in the second half.  Teagan Kulenkamp (UST) gave Remax the 2-1 lead on a power play goal to the ripping one top shelf for the 2-1 lead.  Her effort opened with a terrific move, outside in around the defense.

Marie Moran (SCSU) asserted her self late in the game and scored twice—once at 9:16 to tie it, then again in the final second of regulation with the goalie pulled—off assists from Mikkelson and Makayla Moran (MSU) to knot the game 3-3 with 0.9 left on the clock, a true buzzer beater.

In between,  Moran's goal it was Remax's Delaney Fleming assisted by Bella Finegan (Harvard) and Sawyer Fleming for their second lead of the game.

Despite being under siege for stretches in the second period—Remax controlled possession and outshot Ace 11-5 with Blair holding firm. She made 23 saves on 26 shots in a full 60-minute effort, including three unbelievable saves in the final minute of regulation: a deflection in tight, a scramble pad save to her left, and a sprawling cover prior to Moran's goal.

The game ultimately came down to a shootout. Sawyer Fleming scored the lone goal for Remax, while Blair turned away all three Ace attempts to seal the dramatic victory.

Remax improves to 2-6-0 with the win, snapping their slide and building some confidence down the stretch. Pellicci Ace Hardware, now 3-4-0, remains in third place but must quickly regroup if they hope to challenge Tradition Mortgage for second.

No doubt, this game may not have featured top-of-the-table implications, but it was playoff-caliber intensity from start to finish—and a potential turning point for a Remax team looking to rewrite their season's narrative.
