Ace Hardware Rallies Late, Edges MNHockey.TV in Shootout Thriller
Edina, MN – July 10, 2025
In a defensive battle at Braemar Arena, Pellicci Ace Hardware clawed back from a one-goal deficit and secured a dramatic 3–2 shootout victory over MNHockey.TV in Celly League regular season action Thursday night.
Both teams exchanged early momentum in a tightly contested first period. MNHockey.Tv opened the scoring at 18:12, when Hannah Olson (St. Lawrence) finished off a slick passing play from Grace Wolfe (SCSU) and Emma Hoen (Lindenwood).
Ace Hardware responded just minutes later. At 12:31, Avery Farrell (SCSU) evened the score with help from collegiate teammate Marie Moran (SCSU), making it 1–1 heading into the break.
The second period played out in similar fashion. MNHockey.Tv pulled ahead again at 13:53, courtesy of Olivia Grabianowski (Merrimack), who capitalized on a sharp feed from Dylan Berman (Providence College) and Jackson Kinsler (BU). But once again, Ace Hardware answered back. Just over two minutes later, Avalyn Mikkelson (Assumption) netted the equalizer, assisted by Makayla Moran (MSU) to tie it 2–2.
Overtime & Shootout Drama
With the game still deadlocked after regulation, it came down to the shootout. Both goaltenders were stellar, with Lauren Larson (Sacred Heart) of Ace Hardware stopping 19 of 21 shots, and MNHockey.TV’s Annika Lavender (St. Michaels) turning aside 13 of 15 in regulation.
Kendall Hassler (MSU) broke through in the second round of the shootout, burying the decisive tally and securing the 3–2 win for Ace Hardware. It was the only goal of the shootout. With the win, Pellicci Ace Hardware (3-1) adds a gritty two points to their standings, while MNHockey.Tv (1-2-1) will look to regroup after letting a lead slip away late.
