2 Shutouts pace Celly League Play
Edina, MN - Lake Cowboy and MNHockeyTv faced off in the opening game of the Celly League that saw Lake Cowboy gallop to a 6-0 first half lead ultimately cruising to an 11-0 lead. Remax Advantage Plus ground their way to a 4-0 first half lead to earn their first Celly League win with a 6-0 victory over Tradition Mortgage.

Maddy Clough (UST) had an explosive evening offensively from the blue line, producing a 5 point effort with (2g-3a) in leading Lake Cowgirl over MNHockeTv 11-0. Her transitional play from the blue line created plenty of offense and she also jumped up in the play and delivered the goods with some precision shooting.
With teammate Tristana Tatur (Mercyhurst) getting married on this Celly League night, many of her Lake Cowgirl teammates were celebrating with her. A number of high school players were called up to the roster and contributed. Maddy Kimbrel (Holy Family) 1g-2a, Laini Gnetz (Woodbury) 1a had an impact on the scoreboard while high school call-up and goaltender Kayla Swartout (Holy Family) made 7 first-half saves. Ashlynn Hazlett (BSU) made 7 second half saves of her own to combine for the rare Celly League shutout. There have been five shutouts in Celly League history, 2 in 2024 and 3 in the league’s first year in 2023.
Emma Peschel (Ohio State) joined four players with 3 point efforts. Her 2g-1a effort was complimented by a strong open ice game of skating and dominating puck battle wins. Suzy Higuchi (Yale) 2g-1a and Rachel Argeter (Assumption) 3a rounded out a deep scoresheet that saw six players with multi-point games and 12 others who picked up a point.
The win elevated Lake Cowboy (2-0) to a first place tie in the standings with Pellici Ace Hardware. The loss was the second straight for MNHockeyTv.

Lily Pachl (Cornell) scored twice, her second as time expired in the first half in her team’s alksdfkjd-alkdfjl win over Tradition Mortgage. Delaney Fleming (Cornell) 2g-2a-4pts, Sawyer Fleming (Princeton) 1g-2a-3pts, Alex Paulson (Harvard) 1g-1a-2pts, continued their productive ways this season.
Low key, it was the goaltending that got the job done for Remax Advantage Plus Goalies Kaitlin Groess (BSU) made 11 saves in the first half and Zoe Rimstad (Lindenwood) made 20 saves to share the shutout in goal. The win evelvated Remax record to 1-2 and tied for third place in the Celly League with Tradition.
Delaney Fleming’s 4 points placed her in the league lead in points with 8 and in assists with 2. Both teams will have the Fourth of July week off and return to play the week of July 7th.
